Protein is important to your little one’s nutritional wellbeing. As a result, we don’t skimp on the beef in our recipe, ensuring it has the same ratio of beef to other ingredients as you would expect at home.
This creates great depth of flavour, with lots vegetables such as sweet potatoes, carrots and onions. Goodness is fundamental to us.
The story behind the recipe
Let’s be honest, you wouldn’t cook Beef ragu with only a teaspoon of beef and bulk it up with sauce and powder-based stock. Turns out some guys think this is ok for your little one. I don’t.
Our meat skus are 10% more expensive than other brands because there’s 20% beef in there! The industry average for a similar pouch recipe is 5%.
I wanted a recipe that reminded me of the beef ragu I’ve had in Italy; full of beef and vegetables with a knock-out tomato & herb sauce. We also added our own veg-stock, which is made from scratch for extra flavour too.

Our Beef comes from Wales, less than 40 miles from our factory. Organic & Outdoor reared, we think it’s the best beef you can get.
We make our stock from scratch. It’s filled with veg, spices and herbs, then boiled and strained to make, (in our minds), the perfect stock.
Sweet Potato is delicious and adds an interesting depth of flavour
We use Biona’s spelt pasta, which comes from Italy.
